4th Shift Assembly Supervisor | Clipper Windpower, Inc. | Cedar Rapids, IA
This motivated individual will be responsible for the supervision of
field assembly of the major components used in the 2.5-megawatt Liberty
Turbine.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the assembly of mechanical or electrical systems and support
structures; and installation of components, units, subassemblies,
wiring, and assembly casings.
- Supervise the inspection and test of wiring installations, assemblies
and circuits for resistance factors and for operation, and record
results.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints,
specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine material
requirements and assembly instructions.
- Position, align, and adjust work pieces to facilitate assembly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control and other
techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of
goods.
- Knowledge of air, electric, and hydraulic drive tools, including their
design, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Written skills with the ability to collate and write field reports,
corrective action documentation, and expense reports.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including fork trucks, tractors,
and yard cranes.
- Previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience is required.
- Minimum five years experience in managing manufacturing, quality or
field service environment
- Experience managing up to 30 employees
- Excellent communications skills in written and verbal form
- Ability to motivate people and provide encouragement
- Must have valid driver license
- Ability to read, interpret, and communicate documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
EDUCATION:
Four year technical degree preferred
Management courses desired
